CARES
Community Action for Economic Stimulus
We sought to create a digital ecosystem to connect residents with healthy food options. The challenge was to design a platform that was accessible, user-friendly, and culturally relevant to a diverse, multilingual community, while also integrating various food resources like community gardens, farmers' markets, and local vendors.
Strategic Outcomes: A Triple-Win for Community, Economy, and Health
Increase in community engagement with local food sources within the first six months.
Reduction in reported food access barriers among pilot user groups.
Higher user retention on the platform compared to initial engagement projections.
Execution Layer: Architecture and Usability Testing
The design system, inspired by the organic colors of nature and the vibrancy of community, prioritizes WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility. It features a clean, card-based layout, large, legible typography (Roboto), and a color palette of earth tones (brown, green) and action-oriented accents (red, orange) to guide users intuitively. This interactive prototype demonstrates the final, accessible architecture derived from our AI-Augmented User Discovery Phase.
